Excerpt from The Book of Chronicles: Which Sheweth How the Sons of Wrath Did Phool the Mudsills, Likewise, How the Grimalkin Did Escape From the Bag

Now it came to pas, that Ulysses did rule in the land of Uncle Samuel for the second time: for the people lid see the perverseness of the Opposition, that they were not to be trusted: therefore, they which were true unto the welfare of their Uncle, did cast their lots for Ulysses, and he did prevail over his enemies.

Now it chanced that there were men of divers minds throughout all the land: and there were many which did have no mind at all, in the things which did Concern the good of their Uncle Samuel.

And they all did stand in tribes apart: and these tribes were yet again divided into lesser tribes.

And behold, these he all the tribes, both the greater and the lesser:

The tribe of the Mudsills, and of the Sons of Wrath, and of the Danmiggers, and of the Carpet-Baggers, nad of the Seally Wags, and of the Doophaees, and of the hail-hiders, and of the Kuklux, and of the White Leaguers, and of the Dimik Rats. And this last did, aforetime, stand as a tower of great strength in the realm of our Uncle, and concerning which, more shall be written hereafter.

Now the tribe of the Mudsills were called thus because they wrought with their own hands, and did eat no man's bread for might: and because they were not of the blood of Wrath: and yet, also, because that they were even as a firm foundation unto their Uncle Samuel, and did give unto him full support, with their blood and with their treasures, when he was assailed by his enemies: and were unto him as the sinew of his realm at all times.

And these were men of good intent, and, as a tribe, were true unto their Uncle Samuel.
